In Shelby’s never ending quest for sinker cypress. He encounters what he and I consider Treasures. Usually wood, that has been sculpted by water, and changed in time by the minerals of the rivers and lakes. Some of these treasures are simple wormwood or pecky cypress whose holes that have been created by a fungus. These simple creations have a variable coloration and hardness.
On the rarer side are the beautiful red woods, assumed to be red gum that has been buried for hundreds of years, these magnificent red natural beauties are very hard wood and often contain variable colors of red and black.
The rarest of his finds are the black woods. This extremely hard wood is oak in different shades of black and grays. My personal favorite, this wood can be near impossible to cut. I believe it has soaked up so many minerals for thousands of years that it is near petrified.

Please be aware, some of these woods are extremely hard, and have very small surfaces for branding consequently all branding is not perfect. Some pieces are branded with a smaller brand that does not have the outer border. Rarely we get Shelby to sit down and sign a few pieces.

Limited editionsOn rare occasions Shelby finds other hidden treasures, sometimes an old square nail from a sunken ship of the 1800's, or a broken piece of a bottle that was made in the 1700's. On their own, maybe not worth much, but to our true Shelby fans, some of these are near priceless, because they make us feel like we were there, in the swamp, with him. Some of these have a true Shelby Stanga signature on them.
